The ruling BJD will prepare its election manifesto after taking the views, advice and proposals of the people of the state and would implement it in letter and spirit.
Party General Secretary Arun Kumar Sahu told media here today that BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would launch a campaign christened as ‘’ Ghare Ghare Sankha; Matamata Dianti Apan, Palan Karanti Naveen’’ (Conch in every house, you give your views, Naveen implements it’’ on the 103rd birth anniversary of Biju Patnaik at function here tomorrow.
Mr Sahu said office bearers of the Biju Mahila Janata Dal, the women wing of the BJD along with other women would reach the houses of all the 86 families of the state and take their views.
The campaign, he said would continue for about twenty days.
The election manifesto of the party would be prepared on the basis of the views and proposals collected from the grass root level and the BJD would be committed to implementing it.
He said the BJD is always with the people and the campaign is an innovative effort to widen it further.
He said after the 2014 election, the BJD government has created history by accepting its poll promises as a pledge and to implement them in its first Council of Ministers meeting.
The BJD leader said unlike other political parties, the BJD has always implemented its election promises and in many sectors even it has done more than what it promised.
He said for example in 2014 the BJD had promised to provide crop loan at 1 per cent interest and bring 10 lakh hectares of land under irrigation. After five years, the government provided loan to farmers at zero per cent interest and going to cover 10 lakh hectares of land under irrigation by March next.
Mr Sahu also described the achievement of the government in health, education, industry and women empowerment sectors and appealed to people to extend their cooperation.
