Bhubaneswar: KVIC distributed four sets of tamarind processing tools and equipments to 4 SHGs of Lanjigarh and Th. Rampur blocks in Kalahandi district of Odisha. Each set of tools and machineries consists of a one de-seeding machines, one screw pressing machine, one weighing machine, 10 hammers, 10 steel stools, 2 tarpaulins etc.
The machineries were handed over to the poor artisans in simple function organized by KVIC State Office, Odisha at PD, DRDA Office kalahandi. Shri Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, PD, DRDA directed district officials to identify entrepreneurs who could set up value added product units like tamarind lollypop, lozenges, jelly, chutni etc availing the benefits from PMEGP and PMFME Schemes.
