At least 12 people were injured in a grenade blast that took place at a general bus stand here on Thursday.
Police said the powerful explosion was heard at the site of bus stand and people rushed to safer locations for shelter.
“It was a grenade blast near the SRTC bus,” they added.
“Grenade blast took place this afternoon at the bus stand premises and we have reports that eight people have suffered injuries,” Manish Kumar Singh, IGP Jammu Zone here told UNI.
He added that the area has been cordoned off.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness stated that around dozen people were injured in the explosion and a few of them critically.
The injured have been taken to the hospital. (UNI)
