New Delhi: India will have road infrastructure like America by 2024. Twenty six Green Highways are being built connecting different parts of the country to create robust road infrastructure.
Replying to supplimentaries in the Rajya Sabha during the Question Hour today, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said, the Green Highways will connect Delhi to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Haridwar, Amritsar, Mumbai, Katra, Srinagar and other cities along with Varanasi to Kolkata.
He said, after the completion of the green highways, the travel time will reduce significantly. The Minister asserted that there is no dearth of funds for construction of road infrastructure in the country.
