Swar Sudha a classical music concert was organized yesterday by Kalinga Kala Kshetra at Bhanja Kala Mandap, Bhubaneswar in the honour of Dr. Swarna Khuntia, India’s one of the reputed violinist and Ex-faculty (Violin) Banaras Hindu University.
India’s one of the Tabla maestros Guru Pt. Harmohan Khuntia’s solo table recital was the central attraction of the music lovers after a long time. Young and promising flute artist and student of IIT Delhi Shri Subhakant Sahoo’s spectacular flute recital started with Raag Yaman and ended with a Pahadi Dhun that mesmerized the entire audience.
The people in the auditorium enjoyed and appreciated the unique violin recital by Shri Pushkar Bhagwat from Varanasi who played Rag Jajyawanti followed by a Dhun ‘Thumak Chalat Rama Chander’. Excellent support from the co-artists Guru Shri Kulamani Sahoo, Shri Suprakash Khuntia and Akash was highly appreciated.
The audience presented in the auditorium fully enjoyed and appreciated till the end of the concert. Padmashree Dr. Debi Prasanna Pattanayak was the chief guest of the event and he released Dr. Swarna Khuntia’s book titled ‘Violin and Violinist in Hindustani Classical Music in India’. Convenor of the organization Dr Basanta Sahoo addressed the gathering with the aim and objectives of the concert and delivered a vote of thanks. Smt Jharana Mishra anchored the entire program efficiently.
