Best Web Series Award: The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) continues to highlight cinematic excellence by embracing the expanding world of digital content. Following the success of the Best Web Series (OTT) Award introduced last year, the recognition has grown in popularity, with submissions increasing by over 40% from 10 major OTT platforms. This surge emphasizes the growing importance of web-based content in India’s entertainment industry.
This year, five outstanding web series have been shortlisted for their artistic excellence, storytelling brilliance, technical mastery, and cultural significance. These series include:
Kota Factory: A gripping portrayal of the high-pressure academic world in Kota, Rajasthan.
Kala Pani: A survival drama set in the Andaman Islands, exploring themes of family and self-discovery.
Lampan: A heartfelt rural drama focusing on a young girl’s struggles with identity and empowerment.
Ayali: A socially conscious story about women breaking free from societal constraints.
Jubilee: A period drama that pays tribute to the golden era of Indian cinema.
The winners will be honored at IFFI, with the Director, Creator, Producer, and OTT platform of the winning series receiving a cash prize of ₹10 Lakhs, alongside certificates acknowledging their contributions. This award plays a significant role in recognizing the increasing innovation in India’s OTT landscape, encouraging high-quality content creation in multiple Indian languages.
By celebrating diverse forms of storytelling—from traditional cinema to dynamic web series—IFFI reaffirms its commitment to supporting creativity and innovation. The winner of this prestigious award will be announced at the festival, further solidifying IFFI’s role as a key player in the digital storytelling revolution in India.
