SOA Law Students: Justice B.R. Sarangi Urges to Pursue Knowledge and Discipline

SOA Law Students: Learning is a continuous process, and students should seize every opportunity to acquire knowledge, Dr. Justice Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi, Member of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), said on Monday.

Addressing law students at the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), faculty of legal studies of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA), Dr. Justice Sarangi emphasized the complexity of the legal profession and the patience required to navigate its challenges. He was speaking as the chief guest at ‘Justicia 3.0-2025,’ the institute’s annual function.

The former Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court and former Judge of Orissa High Court advised students to maintain discipline in their lives, cautioning them against complacency in the face of success and encouraging them to aim for greater achievements.

Dr. Justice Sarangi also congratulated SNIL for its recent academic success, as five of its students cleared the 2023 Odisha Judicial Services Examination, the results of which were recently published.

Presiding over the function, SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda underscored the importance of commitment in the legal profession, stating that dedication and perseverance would lead to better career prospects for students.

The event also featured addresses by Prof. S.A.K. Azad, Dean of SNIL, and Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare). The vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant Professor Mr. Akash Trikha.

SOA’s Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar, Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, along with several other senior faculty members and officials, including Prof. Santosh Kumar Rout (Dean, Institute of Agricultural Sciences), Prof. Susanta Kumar Das (Dean, Institute of Veterinary Sciences), Prof. Susanta Ranjan Chaini (Dean, School of Hotel Management), and SOA’s Director of International Relations, Mr. Mahendra Prasad, attended the event alongside faculty members and students.
