Odisha BJP President Post Still Unclear as BJD Congress Decide

Odisha BJP President

Odisha BJP President Post:The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has officially announced its party president. As expected, Naveen Patnaik has been re-elected as the party president for the ninth time. There’s nothing surprising about this development, as everyone is aware that no one other than Naveen holds the reins of leadership in BJD. This announcement was made in accordance with party protocol.

Meanwhile, after prolonged discussions and debates, the Odisha Congress has also finalized its new president. For quite some time, internal deliberations were ongoing within the party to decide on a suitable candidate. Senior Congress leaders in Delhi were actively lobbying for their choices. Ultimately, former minister Bhakta Das was appointed as the president. Since taking charge, he has already initiated commendable work, making the party more active under his leadership.

However, the most unexpected situation lies with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is yet to decide on its new state president. Despite repeated assurances from the party’s central leaders, including in-charge Vijay Singh Pal, a concrete decision has not been made. Initially, it was said that a new president would be appointed with the beginning of the new year. Later, February was projected as the timeline. But now, April has arrived, and the party still hasn’t declared a name.

According to sources, internal tussles between two major factions within the BJP have delayed the decision. One group reportedly supports senior leader Golak Mahapatra for the post, while another faction is backing Manmohan Samal for reappointment. This has created a dilemma for the party’s central leadership.

Ultimately, the final decision on Odisha BJP’s state president is expected to come only after approval from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Given the delay, it seems even they are struggling to resolve the internal conflict regarding the appointment.
