East Coast Railway Safety: Shri Hari Shankar Verma, Director General (Safety), Railway Board, concluded a three-day safety inspection of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) from 13th to 15th July 2025. The visit aimed to assess the implementation of safety initiatives, infrastructure readiness, and staff preparedness across critical sections of the zone.
He conducted detailed inspections of the Khurda Road–Puri section and traveled aboard the Bhubaneswar–New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express to assess on-ground safety parameters. A high-level safety review meeting was convened at the ECoR Headquarters in Bhubaneswar, chaired by General Manager Shri Parmeshwar Funkwal and attended by senior officials.
In addition, Shri Verma held detailed discussions with officers of the Khurda Road Division, including Divisional Railway Manager Shri H. S. Bajwa. The deliberations focused on key divisional safety metrics, staff training, and welfare.
At Bhadrak, he inspected the Accident Relief Train, station premises, and crew amenities. The visit also covered inspections of level crossing gates and joint assessments conducted by inter-departmental teams to evaluate operational safety under various conditions.
The Director General’s visit highlights Indian Railways’ steadfast commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety for both passengers and railway personnel. His observations and guidance during the inspection are expected to further strengthen safety measures and enhance operational discipline across the East Coast Railway.
