The monsoon session of Parliament will begin tomorrow. This session will continue till August 12. Various issues will come up in this long session. Starting from Operation Sindhur, the voter revision process in Bihar and even the US President’s intervention in the India-Pakistan ceasefire will be discussed. It has been made clear that the opposition will definitely attack the ruling party on this issue.
However, there is doubt whether the Balasore and Nimapara incidents in Odisha will come up in this big incident or not. If it comes, then whether it will be discussed in Parliament or not is also in doubt. Because there is no one in both the houses of Parliament to discuss this big incident in Odisha. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the representation of the opposition from Odisha in Parliament is zero.
However, the Congress has already announced that it will hold a major discussion in Parliament on this incident. This announcement was made by Congress woman leader Alka Lamba, who came to join the Congress movement. He said that the Congress will discuss the Odisha incident in Parliament. It will surround the ruling party. But the Congress representation from Odisha is only one. In such a situation, how the voice of the Odisha MP will be raised in Parliament has raised questions.
It is clear that after the Congress, the voice of the Biju Janata Dal will also be weakened in Parliament. The BJD currently has seven Rajya Sabha members. Therefore, they are being relied upon to raise this incident in Parliament. However, it is in vain to hope that the BJD will raise its voice against the Central Government. In the capital, the BJD protested against the state government. However, there are doubts about whether it will oppose the Central Government in Delhi. The role played by the party in supporting the Waqf Bill recently is known to everyone.
Even though the state Congress does not have the numbers in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have been consistently opposing the Odisha incident on social media. Even Rahul Gandhi has come to Odisha and severely criticized the state government. Therefore, it can be expected that the Congress parliamentary party will oppose the government in the Odisha context. But since the Congress has a big national context, it is impossible to say how much attention it will give to Odisha.
But it is true that the programs that the Pradesh Congress has organized in Odisha regarding the harassment of students have made the government sleepless. Under the leadership of the new president Bhakta Das, the Congress has been able to raise its voice against the government. The youth, students and women’s organizations of the Congress have also made their sleepless by opposing the government. But the Odisha Pradesh Congress does not have such strength to contest in Parliament.
