Biju Janata Dal supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik kick-started his election campaign on Sunday from Nayagarh. Patnaik made a detail recounting of various welfare schemes implemented by the BJD government like Kalia and many more such programmes which has immensely benefited people across board to mitigate problems.
At the same time Patnaik reiterated the earlier buzz of Special Category Status for Odisha saying that as promised by the BJP led government at the Centre in 2014 to give top priority but, after coming to power at the centre they have forgotten the promise on Spl Status category.
Patnaik also made a mention of huge revenue that Odisha gives to the Union but does not get as much budgetary provision or allocation it deserves.
Patnaik however slammed the opposition parties here for their cynical approach towards all the welfare schemes taken up by the state government.
