Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) successfully hosted its Fourth Convocation Ceremony for online degree programs under the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), marking a significant milestone in its commitment to accessible and flexible higher education.
The convocation, graced by Chief Guest Mr. Mukesh Jain, Chief Technology Officer, Capgemini, and Guest of Honour Mr. Ambrish Sinha, CEO, UNext Learning Pvt. Ltd., witnessed the conferring of degrees upon students from diverse programs including MBA, BBA, MCA, BCA, MAJMC, M.Com, and B.Com. Out of 4237 eligible graduates, 656 attended the ceremony in person, while the rest were awarded their degrees in absentia.
The event commenced with the academic procession, led by dignitaries including Dr. N.N. Sharma, President, MUJ; Dr. Karunakar A. Kotegar, Pro-President; Dr. Amit Soni, Registrar; Dr. Nitu Bhatnagar, Provost; Dr. Mallikarjuna Gadapa, Director, CDOE; and Dr. Dasari Nagaraju, Controller of Examinations, along with members of the Academic Council. The proceedings opened with the university anthem, followed by a welcome address from Pro-President Dr. Karunakar A. Kotegar.
In his presidential address, Dr. N.N. Sharma emphasized MUJ’s achievements in academics, research, rankings, and sports, while underlining the growing role of online education in widening access to quality learning. He congratulated the graduates, acknowledging their hard work and determination, and reaffirmed MUJ’s vision of contributing to nation-building through educational excellence.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Mukesh Jain praised the graduates for their perseverance and highlighted the flexibility and career-enhancing potential of online learning. Drawing from personal experiences, he encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning as a path to professional success.
Guest of Honour Mr. Ambrish Sinha commended MUJ’s online learning ecosystem, noting that nearly one lakh learners from over 2000 cities across 26 countries are currently part of MUJ’s online programs. He expressed gratitude for the trust shown by students worldwide in MUJ’s offerings.
Dr. Mallikarjuna Gadapa, Director, CDOE, stressed the alignment of MUJ’s online programs with the needs of the digital era, equipping learners with advanced skills for the future.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Registrar Dr. Amit Soni, who extended appreciation to all dignitaries, faculty, staff, graduates, and their families.
To ensure wider participation, the convocation was also live-streamed on MUJ’s YouTube channel and social media platforms, allowing students and families across the globe to join the celebrations virtually.
