Namo Run on Road Safety: Minister of State for Corporate Affairs & Road Transport and Highways Shri Harsh Malhotra hosted the Namo Run themed on Road Safety as part of the Sansad Khel Mahotsav 2025 – East Delhi at the Yamuna Sports Complex, Surajmal Vihar. The run was flagged off by Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta, with over 6,000 participants joining the event.
The Namo Run aimed to raise awareness on responsible road behaviour, promote fitness, and strengthen the culture of sports among youth. Participants—from schoolchildren to senior citizens—showed enthusiastic support for road safety and the FIT India movement.
Shri Malhotra said the event aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering youth to contribute to Viksit Bharat@2047. He highlighted the government’s commitment to building a strong sports ecosystem that promotes participation and excellence.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta urged participants to follow traffic rules and adopt a healthier lifestyle, noting the Delhi government’s initiatives to expand sports and fitness opportunities in the city.
The event saw participation from senior dignitaries, including East Delhi MLAs and representatives from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Shri Malhotra thanked all participants and volunteers, calling the Namo Run a “significant step toward promoting fitness, road safety and community engagement.”
With the success of the event, he expressed interest in hosting more such initiatives to encourage youth involvement in sports and public awareness campaigns.
