Manipal University Jaipur Marks Samvidhan Divas with Address by Speaker Om Birla

Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) celebrated Samvidhan Divas with great joy, pride, and patriotic fervour, marking the occasion with insightful addresses and strong messages on constitutional values. The event was graced by Lok Sabha Speaker Sri Om Birla as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Manju Sharma, Member of Parliament, Jaipur, and Dr. Kailash Chand Verma, MLA, Bagru, joined as Guests of Honour.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. Karunakar A Kotegar, Pro-President, MUJ, extended his gratitude and highlighted the significance of celebrating the Constitution Day with eminent leaders of the nation.

In his presidential address, Dr. Niti Nipun Sharma, President, MUJ, showcased the achievements of Manipal University Jaipur and emphasised the contributions of MUJ’s students and alumni at both national and international platforms. He reiterated the university’s commitment to fostering excellence, innovation, and responsible citizenship.

Addressing the faculty, students, and staff, Chief Guest Sri Om Birla underlined the responsibility of every citizen to understand, respect, and uphold the Constitution of India. He said that such awareness is essential for building a Vikshit Bharat. Emphasising the pivotal role of youth, he remarked, “Nation First is the thought of our youth,” and described the Constitution as the soul of the nation. He also shared that the Parliament of India is working towards introducing courses on the Constitution across schools and universities to deepen constitutional literacy.

Sri Birla appreciated the world-class infrastructure and academic ecosystem of MUJ, expressing confidence that the university will emerge as a centre of innovation and research, contributing significantly to solving global challenges. He also administered the Constitutional oath to all attendees, reinforcing the solemnity of the occasion.

The Chief Guest along with other guests also inaugurated a world class gymnasium in MUJ’s new hostel complex.

Guest of Honour Ms. Manju Sharma stressed the importance of harmonising constitutional rights with values and duties. She noted that true national progress is impossible without strong moral foundations.

Local MLA Dr. Kailash Chand Verma congratulated MUJ for its impactful role in creating employment opportunities for the region’s youth and for its continuous efforts toward community development.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the National Anthem, marking a fitting end to a day dedicated to honouring the spirit and values of the Indian Constitution.
