IndiGo Flight Cancellations: The mass cancellation of Indigo Airlines’ flight issue was raised in the Parliament today by several MPs. During the Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari raised the matter saying that Indigo Airlines has cancelled several flights in the past few days. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi moved a notice under Rule 180 in Rajya Sabha, requesting the Union Civil Aviation Minister to make a statement on the matter.

In response, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, he has spoken to the Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu about the matter, asking him to look into the issue.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya also expressed concern over cancellation of IndiGo flights across the country. Talking to reporters outside the Parliament, he said that the Civil Aviation Minister has held detailed meetings with the IndiGo leadership. MP Surya expressed confidence that this issue will be resolved soon.

Speaking outside the Parliament, Congress MP Jebi Mather questioned the rising air fare. She said, the government must look into this matter and efforts must be taken to control the airfare. She said, people are facing problems due to cancellations of flights by the Indigo airline.

Echoing the same view, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP from Maharashtra Arvind Sawant said, rising air fare is cause of concern for the people. He said, effective mechanism must be developed for capping the rising price of air fare.

Expressing concern over the mass cancellation of flights, TMC MP Satabdi Roy said, airline operators raise their fares during the festive season, due to which people face difficulties.
