India Win: India were crowned champions of the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup for the sixth time after a dominant 100-run victory over England in the final at Harare on Friday.
Batting first, India posted a record total of 411 for 9, powered by a sensational century from 14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The young batting prodigy scored a stunning 175 off just 80 balls and reached his hundred in only 55 deliveries, becoming the second fastest centurion in the tournament’s history.
Sooryavanshi also set a new record for the most sixes in a Youth ODI innings, surpassing his own previous tally of 14 maximums against the UAE in December. He further etched his name in history as the youngest centurion ever in the Under-19 World Cup.
In reply, India bowled out England for 311 runs to seal a comprehensive win.
This triumph marked India’s tenth appearance in an Under-19 World Cup final and their sixth consecutive final since 2016. India also defeated England in the 2022 final, reaffirming their status as the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
