Odisha AI Park: Odisha is standing at the threshold of a new digital transformational era. Historically, we have been a state of physical strength – rich in minerals, surplus in energy, and strong in industrial operations. Today, we are converting that strategic advantage into digital intelligence. Odisha has signed an MOU with Sarvam for development of a sovereign AI capacity hub. This positions Odisha to emerge as India’s leading AI capacity provider.
Sarvam.ai plans to develop a 50 MW AI-optimised facility capable of hosting 25,000 GPUs, with support of Govt of Odisha. This infrastructure will be designed with a dual purpose. First, it will function as the state’s AI public utility. It will support e-governance, agriculture advisories using satellite and weather data, healthcare triage and citizen helplines, and multilingual citizen service interfaces, enabling more accessible and response public service at population scale.
Secondly, this will position Odisha as India’s compute backbone. We recognize that India’s AI growth will be compute-constrained unless sovereign capacity is built at scale. Therefore, this hub will not only serve Odisha but will anchor a nation-wide compute grid offering reliable, production-grade AI capacity to other states and national platforms.
