Aditya Aluminium, Lapanga, as part of its community development initiatives under CSR, inaugurated the Jal Vahini Project at Bomaloi Gram Panchayat of Rengali Block. The initiative aims to provide safe drinking water to local communities during the acute summer season.
Considering the severe water scarcity faced by nearby villages during summer and responding to requests from the local community, Aditya Aluminium has launched this Jal Vahini programme. Under the initiative, drinking water will be supplied through tankers for a period of 90 days, covering 23 villages and 126 hamlets across 7 surrounding Gram Panchayats, ensuring access to safe drinking water at the doorstep of residents.
The inauguration ceremony was held at Bomaloi Gram Panchayat in the presence of senior officials of Aditya Aluminium, including Unit Head Shri Jagannath Prasad Nayak, HR Head Shri Vinoda Nanda Thakur, CPP Head Shri Gulshan Tiwari, Smelter Plant Head Shri Sandeep Singh, Shri Suresh Das, Civil Head Shri Ranjit Kumar, Shri Manoj Sharma, Shri Nil Madhav Pati, CSR Head Shri Ravi Niwas and Shri Manoranjan Behera, along with members of the Civil and CSR teams and local residents. The dignitaries flagged off the water tanker, marking the launch of the initiative.
The event was also attended by Rengali Block Chairman Shri Satyanarayan Agrawal, Bomaloi Sarpanch Smt. Saraswati Pradhan, former Sarpanch Shri Sheshdev Pradhan, and other Panchayat representatives.
On the same occasion, another community development initiative was undertaken with the foundation stone laid for the construction of the Subhadra Shakti Kendra at Lapanga Panchayat by Lapanga Samiti Member Shri Kiran Behera in the presence of women Self-Help Group members. The centre will serve as a training and livelihood hub for SHG women, supporting skill development and income generation activities.
The initiative reflects Aditya Aluminium’s continued commitment to improving the quality of life of communities in its surrounding areas.
