Sariska Tiger Reserve Marks 18 Years of Tiger Reintroduction

Sariska Tiger Reserve : Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav has congratulated the people of the country and nature lovers on the completion of 18 years of tiger reintroduction in the Sariska Tiger Reserve.

In a social media post, Mr Yadav said that Sariska, where tigers had once become completely extinct, is now home to 53 tigers, describing it as an inspiring example of nature’s revival, scientific conservation and collective resolve.

The Minister said that the tiger reintroduction programme in Sariska is not only a historic achievement for India but also for the world in the field of wildlife conservation and species restoration. Mr Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has integrated wildlife conservation with the mainstream of development.

He noted that India is now home to nearly 75 percent of the world’s wild tiger population, reflecting the country’s strong conservation policies, public participation and commitment to protecting nature.

The Minister also called upon citizens to strengthen efforts towards the conservation of wildlife and the environment so that the success of Sariska continues to inspire future generations.
