Stressing on need to conserve environment and ecological set up of the country, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said if his party comes to power, lakhs of rural youth will be employed to improve the environment. In a tweet, the Congress President said, “India needs to 1. Repair & Restore our water bodies. 2. Regenerate & Afforest wasteland & degraded land. We will employ lakhs of rural youth in our gram sabhas to improve the environment.”
The issue of jobs and unemployment is one of the major issues in the coming Lok Sabha elections. On Thursday, the Congress president had annoucned a host of incentives for the youth wanted to start their own businesses, including easy bank credit.
He said that youngsters staring new venture would not need any permissions for the first 3 years of their operation. He also promised to remove the existing ‘Angel tax’ imposed on start ups.
