The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has said that apart from the four seats of Jharkhand the party would be also fielding its candidates in the Lok Sabha polls in the states of Odisha, Bihar and West Bengal.
Addressing a press conference here party’s Central General Secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the party would be announcing the names of its candidates for all the states within the next 24-48 hours.
He said allying with Congress, the party will be fielding its candidate on Mayurbhanj seat of Odisha and in Bihar it would contest Kishanganj, Purnea, Banka and Katihar seats. In West Bengal it will field its candidates on ten seats including Raiganj, Malda North, Malda South, Balurghat, Bolpur, Birbhum, Asansol, Bankura, Purulia and Jhargram.
Mr Bhattacharya said JMM had once won the Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha seat in Odisha and Sudam Marandi was elected as the MP.
He said that as per the desire of the Odisha unit of the party a very close family member of Shibu Soren would be fielded from the seat as it is important for JMM to win the seat once again.
He said that apart from Mayurbhanj, the party is also contesting five assembly seats in Odisha where it also hopes to emerge victorious. To a query, he said that in the next 24-48 hours candidates for all the seats would be announced by the party. (UNI)
