The sitting MLA from Morada Assembly constituency and scion of Mayurbhanj royal family Praveen Chandra Bhanj Deo, who resigned from the primary membership of BJD and presidentship of Mayurbhanj district yesterday, today joined BJP.
Bhanj Deo joined the saffron brigade in a public meeting attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhawanipatna today.
The event, termed Vijay Sankalp Samavesh, was also attended by BJP Odisha president Basant Panda and union minister Dharmendra Pradhan as well.
It may be mentioned here that sending his resignation letter to Naveen Patnaik yesterday, he had alleged that his suggestions were not being taken seriously by the party. He had further accused the party of shelling out tickets to losers in an apparent dig to BJP turncoat Rajkishore Das, who had deserted BJP to join BJD few days back.
