A bus accident on a highway in Kazakhstan claimed lives of 11 people, while 29 others were injured, the Kazakh Interior Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
“As a result of the accident, eight people were killed instantly, 32 people were taken to medical facilities, where three more people have died of their wounds,” the statement said.
The ministry noted that the accident took place on the Almaty-Tashkent highway at about 5 a.m. local time (11 p.m. GMT). The passenger bus flipped over avoiding collision with two vehicles.
The police said that around 50 people and 15 units of equipment were engaged in emergency and rescue operations on the site. A pre-trial investigation in the accident was launched. (UNI)
