Pakistan President Dr Arif Alvi has said that that way their country dealt with India shows Pakistan’s love for peace, accusing the later of promoting extremism.
Addressing the convocation of an university in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said, “Contrary to Pakistan’s efforts for eliminating fanaticism, India is somehow promoting extremism in the region and expressed disappointment over Indian attitude.”
Alvi made this statement in reference to India-Pakistan tension that started with in February, when a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir state. Later that month India carried an air-strike in Balakot, wherein a Wing Commander was held captive by Pakistan and was later released as a peace gesture.
He said that after countering tough domestic problems, Pakistan is now moving towards stability, Radio Pakistan reported.
