Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated YSR Congress chief Jagan Mohan Reddy and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik for their election victories.
‘Congratulations on the remarkable win in Andhra Pradesh. Best wishes to you for a successful tenure,’ tweeted Mr Modi.
Fortysix-year-old Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to become the second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after steering his YSRCP in the direction of a landslide victory.
Mr Reddy’s party was leading on 120 seats out of 175 in Assembly polls and in Lok Sabha constituencies, he is leading on 23 seats out of 25.
He also congratulated Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and tweeted, ‘Congratulations to Naveen Babu for yet another victory in Odisha. Wishing him the very best for the next term.’
BJD recorded a thumping majority in Assembly polls and is set to win 16 out of the 21 Lok Sabha seats.
Mr Patnaik is in power in the state since 2000.
