DRDO test fires inertial guided bomb from Sukhoi jet

POKHRAN, MAY 24(UNI) Defence Research and Defence Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight tested a 500 kg class Inertial Guided Bomb from Su-30 MKI Aircraft from the Pokhran test range in Rajasthan on Friday. The guided bomb achieved the desired range and hit the target with high precision.

The Defence Research and Defence Organisation (DRDO) on Friday successfully flight tested a 500 kg class inertial guided bomb from Indian Air Force’s (IAF) fighter jet Su-30 MKI from the Pokhran test range in Rajasthan. The guided bomb achieved the desired range and hit the target with high precision, the defence ministry said. All the mission objectives have been met. The weapon system is capable of carrying different warheads, it added.On wednesday, the IAF had successfully fired the BrahMos air version missile from its frontline Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft at the Andaman and Nicobar Island. The launch from the aircraft was smooth and the missile followed the desired trajectory before directly hitting the land target.
