Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah is expected to become a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government, besides a host of veterans and new faces.
Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Thawarchand Gehlot, Narendra Singh Tomar, Piyush Goyal, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Gen (retd) V K Singh are also in the reckoning to serve in the Modi government.
Dharmendra Pradhan, Prakash Javadekar, Smriti Irani, Nirmala Sitharaman, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Hardeep Singh Puri, Giriraj Singh, Shripad Yesso Naik, Santosh Gangwar, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Babul Supriyo, Krishnpal Gurjar, Rao Inderjit Singh, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti are expected to get a chance to work again in the government.
Arun Jaitley has refused to take any responsibility in the government, citing health reasons.
Shah could become the new Finance Minister of the nation.
Apart from these, the names of Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, Anurag Thakur, Prahlad Singh Patel, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Nityanand Rai, Debashree Chaudhary, Ratanlal Kataria are also doing the rounds for a berth in the Union Council of Ministers .
All of them have been invited by Prime Minister Modi to tea at his 7 Lok Kalyan Marg residence, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony at 1900 hrs at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
