Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today reiterated that there was no rift with BJP after JD(U) rejected its proposal for symbolic representation in Narendra Modi government, saying NDA was intact and there was no need to create much hype over the issue.
Mr Kumar after “Lok Samvad” programme organised at his official residence here, told media persons that BJP president Amit Shah had offered one berth in Narendra Modi cabinet to JD(U) as symbolic representation of allies of BJP in the government. JD(U) after consultation with members of core committee of the party, decided not to accept the proposal of symbolic representation in Narendra Modi government, he stated.
The Chief Minister said that unnecessary hype was being created over refusal by JD (U) to accept the offer of symbolic representation in Narendra Modi government as the matter had now been closed. There was no rift with BJP over the issue and NDA was intact at all, he added.
Mr Kumar, responding to a query on what would be the stand of JD (U) if Narendra Modi government decided to scrap the article 370 of the constitution relating to special status to Jammu and Kashmir, said that stand of JD(U) on the issue was well known. JD(U) would oppose any move to scrap the article 370, he said adding that JD(U) was also in favour of finding solution to Ram temple dispute in Ayodhya either through consensus among the stake holders or by verdict of the court. JD(U) was also not in favour of any attempt to impose common civil code without taking into confidence of people belonging to all communities concerned, he further added.
