Attack on Afghan President's office: Death toll reaches 20

The death toll from the Sunday attack on the office of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani’s running mate, Amrullah Saleh, has reached 20 people, Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said. “The attack started at around 0430 hrs on Sunday afternoon on Afghanistan Green Trend Office with a car bombing which was followed by armed men attack. The attack killed 20 people and wounded 50 more,” Rahimi said.
The number of attackers was said to be four but their identities remain unknown. Afghan President’s running mate, Amrullah Saleh, was in office as the attack started but survived with minor injuries. According to Rahimi, at least sixteen of those killed were civilians. The officials launched an investigation into the attack. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
