California shooting: 4 killed, 15 injured

The death toll in a shooting incident at the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival in North California, on Monday rose to four while 15 others sustained injuries, Gilroy police confirmed.

“We have at least 15 people injured. We have four fatalities that we know of, including the suspect,” Scot Smithee, the police chief of the city of Gilroy said. He added that the shooting had been reported at 1741 hrs on Sunday (00:41 Monday GMT) and the police had arrived to the site of the incident in less than a minute already.

Smithee also said that since there could be one more suspect, according to eyewitnesses, the police were investigating the matter. It was earlier reported that the incident had claimed three lives, leaving 12 people injured.
