Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will flag off the Intercity Superfast Express to run daily between Gudur and Vijayawada on August 25. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Minister of state for Railways Suresh C Angadi will participate in the function to be held at 1030 hrs in Gudur Railway Station.
A South Central Railway (SCR) statement here on Friday said, the inaugural Train No 02743 Gudur – Vijayawada Intercity Superfast Express will depart Gudur at 1030 hrs on August 25 (Sunday) and arrive Vijayawada at 1535 hrs on the same day.
In the return direction, Train No 02744 Vijayawada – Gudur Intercity Superfast Express will depart Vijayawada at 1800 hrs on August 25 (Sunday) and arrive Gudur at 2230 hrs on the same day. Enroute, this train will stop at Nellore, Kavali, Singarayakonda, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla and Tenali stations. The regular services will commence from August 26 from both the directions.
Accordingly, Train No 12743 Gudur-Vijayawada Intercity Express will depart Gudur at 0610 hrs from August 26 and arrive Vijayawada at 1040 hrs on the same day.
In the return direction, Train No 12744 Vijayawada-Gudur Intercity Express will depart Vijayawada at 1800 hrs on Monday and arrive Gudur at 2230 hrs on the same day.
Enroute, this train will stop at Nellore, Kavali, Singarayakonda, Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla and Tenali stations.
The train consists of AC Chair Car and Second Class Chair Car Coaches, the statement added. (UNI)
