PM Modi unveils memorial for victims of Air India crashes in France

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday unveiled a memorial in memory of the Indian victims of the tragic crashes of two Air India flights of 1950 and 1966 at Saint Gervais at Mt Blanc in France.

Famous scientist Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha was one of the victims of these air crashes.

“I salute all those including the great Indian nuclear physicist Homi Bhaba, who lost their lives in the two crashes,” he said.

Modi is in France as part of his three-nation five-day visit scheduled between August 22 and 26. From France, he will travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and -Bahrain before returning to Paris for the G7 Summit.

Later in the day, he will leave for UAE where he will be accorded with the highest national award – the order of Zayed.
