The Supreme Court on Thursday inquired from one of the Muslim parties in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case whether the Nirmohi Akhara had established their servitor rights despite the contradictions professed by the opposing side.
”Has the Nirmohi Akhara (one of the parties) established their shevait rights despite the contradictions claimed by you,” a five-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, queried Dr Rajeev Dhavan, senior counsel appearing for the Muslim party.
Dr Dhavan responded, ”I need to find out about this. I will inform this court, please give me some day to find it out.” The apex court is hearing a batch of petitions challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court trifurcation of the 2.77 acres disputed site at Ayodhya. (UNI)
