Sasikanth Senthil, the 2009 batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, working as the Deputy Commissioner of the Dakshna Kannada district has tendered his resignation to the post. The IAS officer, who had resigned from the civil services on Friday, has stated that “It was unethical on my part to continue as civil servant when fundamental building blocks of diverse democracy are being compromised” Senthil had assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of the Dakshina Kannada district in 2007 and earned name as a tough and popular officer in the district.
The 40-year-old IAS officer, hails from Tamil Nadu had also served as Assistant Commissioner in Ballari in 2009 and had also served as the CEO of Shivamogga, Chitradurga and Raichur district Zilla Panchayat and was also served as Director Mines and Geology department. It may be recalled that Anna Malai, an IPS officer, serving in Karnataka, was also from Tamil Nadu had resigned to his post recently, to work as a social worker.(UNI)
