The BJP is all set to launch its first ever “Rath Yatra” or save democracy march in West Bengal from tomorrow as a paddy field has been converted to a meeting place for Amit Shah to accommodate thousands of party followers even as the state High Court is expected to pass an order after the Mamata Banerjee government refused to provide a permission for rally.
A late report from Kolkata said the Advocate General told the HC that the state government was not in a position to permit for such rally as the police super of the Cooch Behar district was apprehending law and order problem.
The judge, Mr Topobrata Chakraborty is expected to give his ruling by day after hearing from the BJP’s lawyers.
Another report said that BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, who is scheduled to arrive Cooch Behar by this afternoon, said their save democracy march would start as scheduled.
BJP’s national president Amit Shah is expected to flag off all three ” Rath Yatra” on December 7, 9 and 14 from Cooch Behar, Ganga Sagar and Rampurhat/Tarapith respectively.
A vast paddy field, which belonged to a farmer and who is also the supporter of BJP, converted his land into a meeting place for Amit Shah after the paddy was cut off.
