Man held for robbing PM’s niece: Delhi Police

Delhi Police have arrested one out of the two miscreants who were allegedly involved in snatching the purse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s niece Damyanti Ben in the national capital.

The accused, identified as 21-year-old Gaurav, was arrested from Sonipat Haryana, the police said on Sunday morning.Gaurav’s aide has also been identified and efforts were on to nab him, DCP north district said while speaking to reporters.

Belongings of Damyanti have been recovered which include Rs 56,000 in cash, some documents and two cell phones.

The case has been worked out within 24 hours of the commission of crime.
Two miscreants on Saturday morning allegedly snatched Damyanti’s purse outside Gujarati Samaj Bhawan in Civil lines area of North Delhi. In her complaint, Damyanti said she had come to Gujarati Samaj Bhawan in the morning and was paying the auto rickshaw fare when the mugging took place  (UNI)
