The Madhya Pradesh capital has three more feathers in its cap thanks to the Global Smart City Awards. Official sources said that the Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Ltd was honoured with India’s Best Smart City, Smart Pole and Streetlights under the Best Public-Private Partnership Initiative category and Bhopal Living Labs under the Best Start-up Initiative by a Smart City category. These prizes were conferred by ETGovernment.com. Madhya Pradesh was adjudged the Best Smart State and Gwalior Smart City recognised for Best Smart Parking. The Corporation changed 20,000 traditional lights in this city into smart ones connected with the Command and Control centre. Moreover, the first ‘incubation centre’ was established boasting a capacity of 50 start-ups.
