(UNI) Upping the ante against the Prime Minister, National Conference (NC) Vice-President Omar Abdullah said if Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections were not held within the stipulated six months period, it will be ‘the biggest admission of Narendra Modi and his government’s disastrous handling of the state’.
“PM Modi’s inability, should that be the case, to conduct J&K’s assembly elections within the stipulated 6 month period will be the biggest admission of his & his government’s disastrous handling of J&K. We wait & watch,” Mr Abdullah, who is the former chief minister of J&K, wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
He said it is important to keep in mind that since 1995/96 barring a few by-elections to a handful of Assembly seats and one parliament by-election, all Assembly and Parliament elections have been held on time.
“What will the Modi government do this time around,” he wrote.
