It is an wing of the SUM hospital group being funded by the Mahanadi Coal Fields Ltd, and the chief minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed his thankfulness towards the two above organisations for this cooperation at this crucial juncture.
It is named as Covid-19 hospital with a number of doctors and other para-medical staff and is battle ready to take the challenge of the COVID-19, the first of its kind in the country.
Later speaking over the television the union minister Dharmendra Pradhan has all praise for the State government for having opened such a specialised hospital at this time and informed that, similar such hospitals are likely to come in come in Cuttack and elsewhere.
