India and Bangladesh on Friday held the Joint Consultative Commission meeting here.
“Time-tested good neighbourly relations based on trust and mutual understanding,” tweeted MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj welcomed her Bangladeshi counterpart Dr Abdul Momen ahead of the India Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission meet.
“Our solid ties have their genesis in War of Liberation of Bangladesh,” he stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said India is committed to work with Bangladesh for good bilateral relations and to build on the existing momentum.
He made the remarks when the visiting Bangladesh Foreign Minister called on him here.
Momen is leading a high-level delegation for the meeting.
