When media opted for a black-out for many good hours on Monday !

The media world in the country almost came funneling down to one drop, when J P Nadda was made the new national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, And that was the only happening that the country of 130 crore was made to accept.

Right from the shots of the stage onwards, and till the time Nadda was garlanded, rest happenings across the country came to a grinding halt! Or kept blacked-out.

An unprecedented convergence of the cameras made it appear, as if, Nadda’s appointment as the president  of the BJP, was the beginning of an epoch making era for the country and for the BJP in particular .

The genre and the tenor those got reflected through the fiery speeches made it look like, not a customary event, but a national celebration for some extraordinary achievement.

The news channels, in their pursuit to pander to a dispensation, went overboard to keep themselves disconnected from anything else around.

It was hard to guess what made the media to keep the conscious multitude of viewers to derive  any  sense of reprieve from a party’s event ?

Subsequent proceedings were also nothing more than some rabble rousing exercise in which the party pledged hard to quickly ingress into many non-BJP ruled states and restore them back into the saffron ambit.

It was a just a change of guard and Nadda’s new role was surely a foregone conclusion . It is different that, what are the challenges before the new man who has already started his efforts to fill the bigger shoes.

There was nothing so revealing or worth of a revel that the media had to catapult the event to a national taste.
