Uttarakhand Day: Uttarakhand is celebrating its State Foundation Day today. On the occasion of the state’s Silver Jubilee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects worth more than ₹8,000 crore at a programme held at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun.
These projects span several key sectors, including drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme), the Prime Minister also released financial assistance of over ₹62 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 28,000 farmers.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister also issued a commemorative postage stamp. Addressing the public gathering, he congratulated the people of Uttarakhand on the Silver Jubilee of the state, noting that over the past 25 years, the state has made significant progress in various sectors. He emphasized the need to focus on expanding Uttarakhand’s untapped potential.
The Prime Minister stated that the “double-engine government” is continuously working to take Uttarakhand to new heights of development. Earlier, Mr. Modi visited an exhibition and interacted with various stakeholders.
