Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that BJP government has worked sincerely to make the country prosperous in the last five years.

His government had made such decisions that strengthen the country, said Mr Modi while addressing a rally at Roshan Ground here on Friday evening.

After starting his speech in Punjabi language Narendra Modi slammed Congress party on various issues including national security, poverty and farmers of the country.

Modi said that his government had done a lot in the field of promoting spiritualism and spreading teaching of various Gurus like Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sant Ravidas ji etc.

He said that Kartarpur Sahib was snatched away from the countrymen during partition due to alleged historical negligence of then Congress government. When he found a solution to the Kartarpur corridor, one of the Congress minister started praising Pakistan.

Congress had deceived ex-servicemen in the name of One Rank One Pension. The issue had been kept hanging in the air for 40 years. He had promised ex-servicemen in Rewari in last Lok Sabha elections in 2014 to accept this long pending demand. Congress kept 500 crore in the interim budget in 2014 only to fool them. But his government had paid Rs 35,000 crore to ex-servicemen under one rank one pension scheme.

He said that senior Congress leader and close aide of Gandhi’s family Sam Pitroda’s “Hua to hua” comment on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots showed the “character and mentality” of the party.

Mr Modi said, the Congress did nothing to stop flowing of country’s river water towards Pakistan in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir only to appease its vote bank. The farmers of Punjab have shortage of irrigation water. Congress did not stop this water for 70 years because they allegedly felt that if the water stopped, the vote bank would became angry. His government had decided to stop each drop of water to flow towards Pakistan which the country is entitled.

The workers had started arriving the venue from the morning to listen Narendra Modi. At the rally venue Parkash Singh Badal, former Chief Minister and other leaders including Sunny Deol, Som Parkash, both candidates for Lok Sabha from Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur constituencies respectively, Vijay Sampla, Shwait Malik, BJP President, Punjab and many other leaders welcomed Narendra Modi.
