BJP ready to form next govt in Karnataka if the present Coalition government falls on its own:Yeddyurappa

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the government if the JDS-Congress Coalition government in Karnataka headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy falls on its own, Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also BJP State President, said here today.

Strongly reacting to the statement of the former Prime Minister and JDS National President H D Devegowda that state may face mid-term election, the BJP leader retorted that “There will be no mid-term election as BJP which is the single largest party in the Assembly will stake claim to form the next government”.

Opining that the Congress and the JDS leaders are trying to create confusion on the issue, he said that “The BJP will not allow to dissolve the house and make all efforts to form an alternate government in the event of the collapse of the Coalition government”.

Demanding Kumaraswamy to step down if he is unable to run the government, Yeddyurappa said that “People of the State had fed up with the non-performance of this Coalition government and it is high time they should step down”.

The mid-term election will burden the exchequer and BJP will decide the future course of action if the Coalition government fell on its own weight, he said.
