Eight children were charred to death and 10 others injured when lightning struck them at Dhanpur Musahari village under Kashichak police station area in Nawada district today.
Police said children were playing under a Peepal tree when the lightning amid rainfall fell on them leaving eight of them dead on the spot. Sources said 10 other children sustained burn injuries in the mishap.
The injured children had been admitted to a local hospital.
