Priyanka Gandhi comes to ailing girl’s rescue, arranges her airlifting to New Delhi for better treatment

In a rare gesture, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress general secretary for Uttar Pradesh (east), came to the rescue of a girl suffering from tumor problem and arranged a private aircraft to airlift her to New Delhi for better treatment.

According to reports, the girl, Ansu, was being treated at Kamla Nehru hospital in Prayagraj but her condition was deteriorating. When on Thursday Gandhi Vadra was informed about the condition of the girl, a native of Rae Bareli, her mother Sonia Gandhi’s constituency, she immediately swung into action amidst her hectic campaigning schedule.

She used her influence to provide an aircraft to shift the girl to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. She got Ansu and her parents accommodated in a Delhi bound aircraft that had been arranged for two senior Congress leaders, Hardik Patel and former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, for campaigning.

Patel and Azharuddin accompanied the girl from Prayagraj to New Delhi. However, another leader Rajiv Shukla, who was also slated to return to New Delhi in the same aircraft, could not board as it was a six-seater aircraft. Later Shukla left by a train on Thursday night to Delhi. (UNI)
