Senior BJP leaders, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Anusuiya Uikey appointed Governors

President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday appointed two new Governors for Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Senior BJP leader, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, 85, who was the former Law Minister in the BJD – BJP Odisha government in 2004, was appointed as Andhra Pradesh Governor.
At present ESL Narasimhan, is holding charge of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states as Governor.
The President also appointed senior BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha member Anusuiya Uikey, 62, as Chhattisgarh Governor.
Uikey was the Rajya Sabha member from 2006 to 2012 from Madhya Pradesh, her native state.
Currently, Madhya Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel is holding the charge of Chhattisgarh Raj Bhavan.
The appointments of the two new Governors will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
