(UNI) With the death of two more women devotees on Sunday, the death toll in the temple ‘prasadam’ incident at Kicchugatti Maramma temple in Sulwadi village of Chamarajanagar district mounted to 13.
The deceased were identified as Salamma (35) and Mageswari (35).
Hospital sources said that the women were not responding to the treatment.
In all, 92 persons are still being treated in the various hospitals. As many as 29 people are still in serious condition and being treated in intensive care units.
As many as 11 people died and many were hospitalised on Friday after they consumed ‘prasadam’ in Kucchu Gudi Maramma temple.
The prasadam was distributed after the foundation laying ceremony of Maramma temple.
Chamarajanagara is one of most backward districts in Karnataka.
