Bhubaneswar: Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji in his visit to Odisha today reviewed the ongoing Railway projects and traffic facility works with the General Manager and other Principal Heads of the Departments of East Coast Railway at ECoR headquarters at Rail Sadan, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
As the projects in the State are being given priority for speedy construction work and early completion; Shri Vaishnaw advised Railway Officials to expedite the construction work so that the ongoing works will be completed at the earliest.
He also advised Railway officials to remain constant touch and coordination with all agencies including State Government Officials, to complete the projects at the earliest.
Later Shri Vaishnaw participated in the Odisha Nirman Conclave-2022 and informed about the transformation in Indian Railways with multiple vision, new innovation, early completion of projects, port connectivity etc.
Informing the media, Shri Vaishnaw said that; before 2014, Odisha was getting merely 830Cr budgetary allocation. In the current year, Odisha got about 10 thousand Crores budgetary allocation, which is much more than the expectations.
He also informed that; mere 20 to 25 Kms of Rail Line was being developed in the State before 2014. Last year, about 180 KMs of rail line was completed in the State and this year about 550 Kms of Rail Line will be developed. This indicates the huge change in Odisha in the field of Railway development.
Shri Vaishnaw also informed that, 28 Stations have been planned to be redeveloped, where Tender process completed and works going on at 28 Stations. He also informed that Odisha will also get Vande Bharat Express, very soon. Apart from this, 5G Connectivity in the State will be provided very soon.
Apart from this, Shri Vaishnaw also informed that, Railway is planning to run Jagannath Circuit Train before Rath Yatra which will showcase the great Culture, Heritage and History of Lord Jagannath and Odisha.
