Cyclone Arnab: The cyclone ‘Arnab’ formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a ‘very severe’ cyclonic storm today. According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone is currently moving over the sea at a speed of approximately 23 kilometers per hour.
It is presently located about 400 kilometers from Gopalpur, 350 kilometers from Visakhapatnam, and 420 kilometers from Kakinada. It is projected to make landfall tomorrow morning. Wind speeds are expected to reach between 115 and 125 kilometers per hour at the time of landfall.
The impact of the cyclone has already begun to be felt in Odisha since last night. Since this morning, the skies over Odisha—particularly in the coastal regions—have turned completely dark, and rainfall has commenced. Due to the impact of the cyclone, shops and markets in various places remain closed today.
